Lo Spazio Luciano Vistosi - Murano (Venezia)

Born in Venice on 24 February 1931, Luciano Vistosi spent his childhood and youth in Murano, where his family owned a renowned glass factory.

In the 1960s, with the aim of creating products linked to the latest research in the field of design, Vistosi began to show a strong inclination towards sculpture.

Glass became a challenge for him to find experimental and increasingly sophisticated techniques to turn into a unique and unrepeatable art form. This new guise that glass had never seen before led Vistosi to leave his career as an industrialist and designer to become a full-fledged sculptor and transform the large spaces of the former glass factory into his personal studio.

Luciano Vistosi died on 14 May 2010.

After two years of conservative restoration, the Spazio Luciano Vistosi is now open to visitors by appointment.
